Prometec and MGIC: a new production standard for marble processing in Saudi Arabia
Marble and Granite International Company (MGIC), based in Jeddah, is a leading manufacturer and installer of marble and granite products. The company operates the largest production facility in the NEMA region – the world’s biggest under one roof – and has supplied major Saudi Arabian architectural landmarks, including the Grand Mosque of Makkah.
In 2025, Prometec supplied MGIC with two complete production lines – a cyclic resin line and a polishing line – designed to work independently or in direct/delayed connection through a smart layout that minimizes internal logistics and maximizes process efficiency.
The cyclic resin line represents the state of the art in processing high-value and complex materials such as marble, granite and quartzite. It was specifically developed for premium stones like Thassos marble, widely used in Saudi religious construction for its brilliant white color and excellent heat-dispersion properties, essential in high-temperature environments.
The system processes slabs up to 5 cm (2 inches) thick and features cyclic ovens for drying and curing, automatic mesh and epoxy application by GALILEO robotic arm, and finishing and buffering stations for flawless results.
The polishing line, fully interfaced with the resin plant, is configured to handle both marbles and natural quartzites, including the renowned Taj Mahal, ensuring top-level finishing quality.
A tailor-made project that embodies the synergy between Italian technological innovation and Saudi industrial excellence.
