The Archimedes Chamber represents an innovative concept in the natural stone processing sector. It is an inline autoclave, part of Prometec’s patented ARCHI LINE system, designed to perform restoration and resin treatment of slabs in a fully automated cycle. This system overcomes the traditional limits of autoclaves, which are generally used only for block restoration, by introducing for the first time an autoclave compatible with inline slab production.
TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION
The main difficulty in using a pressure chamber inline lies in managing timing and logistics, which are traditionally incompatible with continuous production. ARCHI LINE overcomes this obstacle through a system that integrates the Archimedes Chamber into the continuous processing flow, allowing the use of positive pressure to quickly push reactive and non-reactive epoxy resins into the microcracks and pores of the slabs before crystallization begins.
OPERATION
The Archimedes Chamber applies controlled positive pressure, efficiently conveying the resin inside the slab structure. This ensures complete penetration and optimal adhesion of the resin, improving the structural quality and aesthetic appearance of the slabs, while also reducing the halo effect typical of light or porous marbles. The system is designed to operate inline, without interruptions or machine stoppages, integrating with the processes of mesh coating, flipping, pre-polishing, resin application, and polishing.
